French Leading Index Drops In April: Conference Board
A leading indicator of the French economy declined in April, after growing in the previous two month, data from a survey by the Conference Board showed Monday.
The leading economic index decreased 0.1 percent month-on-month to 113.7 in April, after rising in the previous months. The index increased a revised 0.4 percent in March and 0.6 percent in February
The decline was influenced by negative contributions from production expectations and stock prices, which were more than offset by positive contributions from the yield spread and new unemployment claims, data showed.
The coincident economic index, which measures the current situation, remained unchanged at 104.4 during the month.
In the six months ended April, the leading economic index increased by 1percent, while the coincident economic index decreased by 0.1 percent.
